I've tried to uninstall through the app but it asks for a password from the "Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager administrator". I'm an admin for this account on the Mac so I should be able to remove everything manually. How do I do that? I'm specifically using version 14.0.1.
1. Click "Start" button and run (or Direct: Window logo key + R)2. Enter Services.msc to stop Symantec-related services3. Enter Smc-stop. If you want a password, open the Registry (Window logo key + R; enter regedit; hit enter) and find Hkey_local_machine\software\symantec\symantec Endpoint protection\ SMC, remove the Smc_exit_test key on the right, and then enter Smc-stop in the run.4. Now continue to Hkey_local_machine\software\symantec\symantec Endpoint PROTECTION\SMC, delete the Smcinstdata key on the right.5. Now you can uninstall SEP without a password in the Add delete program.6. Restart as prompted.7. You are done.
